Hear Ye! You really enjoyed my 2015 report presented by Friends friends. This year it is the team of The Good Wife who accompanies me. This American super series ended in May 2016, I discovered it late thanks to a tricopine and I loved it!
The return on the good resolutions 2016:
1- Stop accumulating “work in progress”
I actually managed not to knit more than 2 projects at the same time the first 6 months of the year, then summer arrived with the sun and the urgent need to knit cotton stuff, right away! And I went back with up to 5 projects started in less than two weeks … it’s ugly.
2 – Post more new tutorials and patterns on the blog
I published 3 . Which is good compared to the year 2015 but not top compared to what I had in mind. Can do better.
The figures of the year 2016,
I knitted 17 projects : 3 caps, 3 pairs of socks (one size 45, respect!) , 2 sweaters, 1 vest, 2 shawls, 2 collars (twice the same for that matter: the Diamond Kerchief Cowl ) 1 snood and 3 lots of birth gifts.
I was very generous this year because of these 17 projects, 8 were offered as a gift .
Let’s talk about things that annoy me, I always have too much work in my suitcases. Today I count 7 in progress whose 3 who were already in the 2015 balance sheet: a cotton sweater that must be restarted from scratch, a snood in mohair which I even forgot the existence and eternal cover as-we-go-blablabla …
Short, the top 3 of my favorite projects this year:
And the top 3 Instagram projects that you have preferred:
As long as we talk about social networks, this year I tried the experience of Me Made May and I found it very interesting.
But on the blog I did not publish than 17 articles it’s a lot less than the years before. The reason is of course the social networks. If I diversified like everyone else’s space of expression, I do not intend to end this blog!
Already because some series of articles like The Dinette are always hugely consulted and used. But also because the blog format still pleases me a lot for a big part of my publications. For example, I am thinking of sharing experiences for big projects with a little technique, thinking about my / our knitting practice and lots of other little things that can not be summed up in two lines and one image.
The good resolutions 2017,
1 / Do not buy new wool
Ok, or just a little bit … Moving several times this year again, I measure the amount of wool I have in my boxes and the great potential it represents. So I will try to maximize my existing stock to save some money and also to avoid feeding my closets endlessly. And then a sleeping wool is a sad wool!
2 / Finally finish my As-we-go Stripey Blanket because it’s starting to do well …
Projects in sight for 2017,
Then I’m not used to a to-do-list knitting but I already know that this year will be a very baby year. I do not count less than 6 births in my entourage before the month of August! There will be work in mini-knitwear and I dread the management of a specially dedicated schedule …
I wish you all an excellent new year. So many little moments of happiness that there are meshes in your work and all the love you deserve!
