A small post live from Rome 😉 I love this city, I’m here for the weekend but I can not forget you! I will be able to make a whole article on Rome so much this city speaks to me, but I will also want to speak about Florence, Venice … and all of Italy in fact … In short I adore Italy.
You remember, on facebook, I talked about a little surprise last week because it was my birthday, I wanted to offer a small gift too. 🙂 Here are the explanations of a small crochet pouch, lined with fabric (one of my favorite, vintage cassettes and all colored), closed with two pressures.
You need: – A 3.5 mm hook – 1 ball Merino Cotton Drops 08 Navy (or equivalent 50 g -120 m) – Fabric 20 x 25 cm – Thread and sewing needle – Sewing pressure buttons.
Small reminder: ml = Mesh in the air / ms = tight mesh / mc = Slip / B = Flanges / dB = Half-flanges
Good as usual I made the cover without noting anything and like that feeling, but I will try to resume from the beginning to explain this nice cover.
For the hook part: With the hook 3,5, mount a chain of 43 ml, normally 18-19 cm, if it does less add 2 ml, because you work on an odd number of stitches.
Row 1: 1 ch, make 1 sc in each ch from the chain, you have 43 sc. 3ml, turn.
Rank 2: Stitch a flange in each sc. You have 43B.
Row 3: 3ml, pick up 1 st in the 2nd and 3rd ch from the crochet hook, 1 st in the first 3 sts from the beginning of the row = 6 loops on the hook, knit 1 round and cast off the 6 loops, crochet 1 ml, * pick up 1 st in the hole, 1 st on the side of the last 6 sts, 1 st in the same st as the last of the 6 sts, 1 st in each of the next 2 ch = 6 loops on the hook , make 1 chuck and roll out every 6 loops, 1 ch *, repeat from * – *. Crochet 1 dB in the last ml. Turn.
Rank 4 (upside down): 2 ml (= 1 dB), crochet 2 dB into the “hole” of each star, complete the rank by 1 dB in the last m. Turn. You have 19 stars and 1B on each side. 3ml turn.
Row 5: Pick up 1 st in the 2nd and 3rd ch from the crochet hook, 1 st in the first 3 sts from the beginning of row = 6 loops on crochet hook, make 1 YO and cast out 6 loops, crochet 1 ch , * raise 1 st in the hole, 1 st on the last side of the 6 st, 1 st in the same st as the last of the 6 st, 1 st in each of the next 2 ch = 6 loops on the hook, make 1 discard and roll out every 6 loops, 1 ch *, repeat from * – *. Crochet 1 dB in the last ml. Turn.
Row 6: (backwards): 2 ch (= 1 dB), crochet 2 dB into the “hole” of each star, complete the row by 1 dB in the last m. Turn. You have 19 stars and 1B on each side. 3ml, turn.
Rank 7: Stitch a sling in each stitch of the previous row. You have 43B. 1ml, turn.
Rank 8: 1ms in each B of the previous rank = 43ms.
Rang 3 to 8, that’s what I call the cover design. It must be repeated 5 times.
Rank 31 to 38: 1ml, poke 43ms.
Do not cut your thread.
You have a crocheted rectangle that measures approximately 19 x 26 cm. Adjust the height by adding one or two rows of tight stitches.
For pretty finishes, starting with rank 38, make 1 cc in each of the 43 ms, to turn (to go on the height of the cover), 1ml, then 1ms in each row of tight stitches (from row 38 to 31). For the ranks that follow, in general I used to stitch 1ms in all that is rank ms or dB and 2 ms in the rows of flanges, and I adjust if it starts to “curl”. Once the height is crocheted in ms, make 1ml to turn and attack the starting row (the chain), seize 43mc. 1ml and redone exactly as on the other side. You can now cut and tuck the thread.
Pfiiiiou, I do not know how to do the explanations eh … I hope I was clear enough, do not hesitate in your comments to tell me if there is a problem or something not very clear.
Aaah if, for the point star, here is the link of a very clear video where we understand better than the explanations. ( Right here )
For the sewing part, I made my lazy, I used Pimprenelle, my sewing machine 😉 I cut 2 rectangles of fabric 20 cm by 25 cm, taking as seam value 1.5 cm. So I just stitched place against my rectangles, turned and closed in invisible seam. I then pinned my fabric rectangle on the back of my crocheted rectangle. I told you I was lazy because I’m lucky to have a sewing machine that wants to stitch fabric and hook. I took advantage, but I advise you to sew at the invisible point in hand if you doubt your MAC, do not blame me for having warned you!
Once the lining is laid (sewn in invisible or stitched to the machine), it is enough to fold the rectangle like an envelope. Finally to finish this nice pouch, sew the snaps face to face (it’s better!) And here you have finished your little pouch to be the prettiest on earth. 😉
Go back to my Spritz on the terrace in Piazza Navona, my Pasta dishes in Trastevere, the gelati in front of the Trevi Fountain and other Italian follies. I kiss you hard and think of you.
Kisses the Z’amis.
Ps: Ahh yes I forgot, this wallet is up for grabs. 🙂 As usual we leave a small comment, his email address. We share on Facebook , instagram, twitter, or you actually want to increase his chances of winning. Result of the contest within 10 days. 😉
