Do you knit tight or loose?

The question: Do you knit loosely or firmly , probably everyone has heard of us already. What do you answer?

I just shrugged my shoulders. So I have some thoughts and some questions formulated, which may help to find an answer.

Do you knit tight or loose? tight loose

Do your knitted stitches slip on the needles? So they would slide down if you hold the needle straight down?

  • Yes, then you knit more easily.
  • No, then you knit more tightly.

Can you easily prick your stitch on the left needle to pull it off?

  • Yes, then you knit normally up to loose.

Or do you have to work hard to stab with your knitting needle?

  • Yes, then you knit well.

Slipping the stitches slightly when knitting from the left needle?

  • Yes, then you knit normally up to loose.

Or do you have to help out with your finger to let your knitted stitches slip off the left needle?

  • Yes, you guessed it, you knit tight.
My answer to this entangled question is from now on: I rather knit.

If you have figured out what your answer is, then I have some tips for you.

Tips for festive knitters:

  • Needles should be at least half or one needle size larger than indicated
  • Wrap the thread around your finger only once, then it will slip easier
  • Use metal needles, mesh will slip better
  • Make stop with two needles lying one on top of each other

Tips for Locker-Stricker:

  • Use needles at least half or one needle size smaller than indicated
  • Wrap the thread around your finger several times, then it is nice and tight
  • Stop with a needle

Tips for all knitters:

  • You should have dry hands, so after washing your hands, let them dry well.
  • Hand cream and care, please only after knitting.

At the specified Needle sizes on bobbins Loose knitters should take the smallest needle size, firm knitters the largest and normal the golden middle ground. Then knit your knitting needle with this knitting needle swatch ,

Then it starts Counting stitches :

  • Did you more stitches on 10 cm as stated, then you knit too tight and have at least one Needle size higher to take.
  • Did you less stitches on 10 cm , you knit easily and should at least one Needle size smaller to take.
  • Does she agree? , Congratulations, nothing has to be changed.

by the way the thing with the stitch test , nobody likes them, but often it depends. I found two links that do Why and how explain very nicely:
